ABOUT US

Janyata Frazier-Worthy
Owner--Death Doula
I am a true empath--I feel the pain of others deeply in my heart. It's this personality trait that caused me to create programs and slide shows for over twenty years for families in the community. For years I didn't charge-- it was simply an act of love, much like dropping off a ham or a sweet potato pie.

I have always been interested in mortuary science and the grieving process. Despite not listening to my better mind and entering the mortuary industry right after highschool, I am finally using all of my collective talents for one unified purpose--grief compassion support.

I learned graphic design first hand creating marketing ads and designing content for my parents' advertising specialty company. Armed with a basic understanding of graphic design and the use of color I then graduated with a degree in Literature from Agnes Scott College. My stay at ASC afforded me the opportunity to teach both in Kobe, Japan and right here in the Metro Atlanta area. For nearly twenty years I taught writing and literature classes which allowed me to hone my writing skills to capture abstract concepts and make them concrete with succinct and descriptive writing techniques.

It wasn't until I began focus on grief compassion and support work that I realized that there was yet more training that I needed. I became a certified life coach and a death doula. It is my training as a death doula that has allowed me to propel my business even further and to be of a greater service to my customer base.

So, for me, it's not about just making a program look pretty--it's about creating an experience that overshadows your grief to the point that it allows you to show the depth of love and honor for your loved one.

A Worthy Experience is a family run business that has been designed to help your family. Our family has been riddled with grief due to the loss of pillars in our family, and we truly understand the strain that planning a memorial service adds to what seems like insurmountable grief.

Let us help you. You won't regret it.
